Through overwhelming loss, I drew on a lesson I learned years before. In the process of healing and moving forward, my family and I created something new.
Waiting under the banner with many others, I took it all in during the moments before the walk began. As I looked over at my wife, I kept in mind what brought us there that day.
After we had our son, my wife and I lost two children to miscarriage and stillbirth. At the time, it seemed impossible to expand our family, though it was at the center of our life. Fortunately, years later we miraculously had our daughter, and though our prior losses were devastating, we never let them be forgotten and began to celebrate their lives.
I have always been an optimist, and though their time with us was brief, the impact our two middle children had on our family was not. We began celebrating the days they each passed from our lives as a celebration of who they were. We often took part in charity walks for children’s organizations, taking a day to pause and remember.
When our daughter came along years later in the most miraculous way, we included her and our son in the celebrations and continued sharing stories. Open communication has been a constant for our family. Though there are hard parts of life, it is important to us that we share everything with our children, so they have a clear understanding of the world and where they fit in it.
Family has always been at the center of my life, and my parents are still my heroes, though they are no longer with us. I love being a father and was happy to have the opportunity to get deeply involved in my children’s lives, from coaching baseball to attending recitals and being at every event, just like my parents were for me. Becoming a licensed REALTOR® in 1997 while my children were still small allowed me the flexibility to work hard while still being there for my family.
My work ethic 100% came from my parents, who just had a “get up and go” attitude each day. My faith has also seen me through, and I feel confident knowing that whatever happens, the Lord will bring me through. During loss, economic downturns, and every challenge, He brought me through.
I opened my brokerage, Weichert REALTORS®-Integrity, in 2008, and everybody thought I was crazy. However, rather than looking at all that was wrong, I noticed the opportunity in front of me. I look for the good in everything because even if it is hard to see, it is always there. I realized long ago that no matter what challenge we are facing, there is always a blessing hidden within. Whether that is a new family tradition, a lesson, or an opportunity to start small with a new brokerage, I keep my eyes open to find those hidden blessings.
We all have different journeys to get where we are, and I own who I am. I am proud of the life I have built and the journey that has brought me to where I am today. I am very open about my life, passionate about what I do and dedicated to my clients. Whenever I am not working, I enjoy playing golf, going for walks with my wife, boating on the Mississippi River, and camping with friends and family. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is meeting people and getting to know their stories.
Whether you are buying or selling a home, I will be your partner through this process. With 28+ years of experience and as a Minnesota native, I know this market and these communities unlike anyone else. I prioritize communication and will ensure that you are informed consistently throughout the process on next steps, what to expect and any changes.
Working alongside you, I will point out everything I see – the good and the bad – so that we can figure out solutions together. I like to ensure that there are no surprises and plenty of options. It’s important to me that you understand your choices, which is why I will take the time to share information and educate you through each step of the process. Looking at the big picture, I will help you plan your next step through this transition and beyond. Whatever your end goal is, I’ll help you figure out the clearest path to get where you want to be. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to support your success as your lifelong REALTOR®.
Sincerely,
